Vice President, Major Projects | Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Craig Degenfelder was named as Vice President, Major Projects of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) in 2024.

Degenfelder will lead a centralized team focused on the successful execution of major projects for PG&E’s energy infrastructure across Electric Transmission, Substation and Distribution, Power Generation, and Gas Transmission and Distribution.

 

Degenfelder has 27 years of experience in the construction and utility industries. He joined PG&E after serving as the Executive Director of Strategy and Projects at Consumers Energy. In this role, Degenfelder led the long-term capital investment strategy, project development of new technology investments and regulatory filing strategy for the gas business. Degenfelder also has direct experience overseeing major projects, having previously served as the Executive Director of Enterprise Project Management at Consumers.

 

Before joining Consumers Energy, Degenfelder was Executive Vice President for an electrical contracting company in California. He started his career in the union (IBEW) electrical trade as an apprentice and advanced from journeyman to general foreman and then to an estimator and project manager.

Degenfelder holds an MBA from Purdue University, a bachelor’s in Technology Management – Construction from the Lawrence Technological University School of Engineering, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and a master electrician’s license.
