 Maureen Zawalick

Zawalick is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for PG&E Corporation and its subsidiary Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

In this role, she is responsible for excellence in strategic, enterprise, and operational risk management and compliance programs. She also leads key strategies for clean energy to support demand growth.

 

Zawalick has more than three decades’ experience in the utility and nuclear energy industry. She joined PG&E in 1997 and has held various positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of Risk Management, Compliance, Regulatory, Cyber, Environmental, Performance Improvement, Nuclear Fuel, Innovation/AI, Business Finance, and Emergency Preparedness. Prior to PG&E, Zawalick spent eight years at Westinghouse Electric involved in major projects and initiatives including steam generator replacements, regulatory and legislation, and power plant start-ups.

 

Zawalick has a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. She is a member of the University of California, Los Angeles Dean of Engineering Corporate Advisory Board and California Polytechnic State University President’s Council of Advisors. She serves as an Advisor to Japan’s Nuclear Risk Research Center as part of the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry. Zawalick is also the Executive Sponsor of the Women in Nuclear Chapter and National Society of Black Engineers at PG&E, and a Board Member for the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce and Founder’s Circle of REACH (Regional Economic Action Coalition).
