Sally Romero is Senior Vice President, Gas Operations for PG&E.
Sally Romero leads Gas Operations, which delivers safe, reliable and affordable natural gas service to over 4.5 million Northern and Central Californians through more than 46,000 miles of natural gas pipeline. The Gas Operations team includes 5,000 coworkers who support gas transmission and distribution operations, with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, compliance, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Romero joined PG&E in 2001 and has 24 years of experience in the utility industry including energy efficiency, customer service and natural gas operations. Prior to her current role, Romero was Vice President of PG&E’s Gas Distribution Operations. In that capacity she led over 1,700 employees in Distribution Operations for Maintenance and Construction, Leak Survey, Corrosion, Field Service, Dispatch, Work and Resource Planning and Centralized Hard-to-Reach Customer Support. She also led the advancement of the Lean Operating System for Gas Distribution, leading to improved processes and savings. Prior to that she was Director, Dispatch, Work and Resource Planning, Central Clerical and Centralized Support for PG&E. In that capacity, she oversaw field operations, dispatch emergency response, handling of 9-1-1 support calls, integrated work and resource planning; and led the continuous improvement team supporting the development of hard-to-reach customers.
She also holds a leadership position with the American Gas Association (AGA) on the Managing Committee and the Best Practices Steering Committee.
Romero is a graduate of California State University, Chico where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She also completed the Leadership Executive program of Leading Forward from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the Leadership Executive program of Positive Leadership from Stephen M. Ross School of Business from the University of Michigan.
