Dave Gabbard

Dave Gabbard is Vice President of Power Generation at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).

In this role, he is responsible for all of the utility's non-nuclear generation assets, including our large hydroelectric system, natural gas plants, solar generation fleets and PG&E's battery energy storage systems. Previously, Gabbard was Senior Director, Transmission and Substations, within Electric Operations. In this capacity, he oversaw teams responsible for maintenance, construction, project management, and portfolio oversight for investments in PG&E's transmission and substation infrastructure.

He joined PG&E in 2005 as an Engineer at Diablo Canyon Power Plant and has held numerous leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Project Management, Engineering, Electric Generation Interconnection, Energy Storage, Transmission Planning, Risk Management, Asset Management, System Protection, Maintenance and Construction.

A California native, Gabbard earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, SLO. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
