Senior Vice President, Vegetation Management & System Inspections
Peter Kenny is Senior Vice President, Vegetation Management & Electric System Inspections. In this role, Peter leads a large field-based organization made up of over 11,000 coworkers and contractors that ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to approximately 16 million people throughout a 70,000 square-mile service area in northern and central California. Peter joined PG&E in 2012 and has held several leadership positions with increasing responsibility. Previously, he served as Vice President of Gas Transmission and Distribution Construction.
Peter began his career at Brooklyn Union Gas and has over 30 years of experience in the utility industry, including serving in leadership roles with National Grid that spanned across multiple states. Throughout his career, Peter has been instrumental in leveraging lean operating systems to improve safety culture and performance by engaging those closest to the work.
Peter earned a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Saint Mary's College. In addition, he completed the Tuck Advanced Management Program at Dartmouth College and Lean Management Program at INSEAD. Peter is a member of the Board of Directors for the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce.
