Maureen Zawalick is Vice President of Decommissioning and Technical Services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). In this role, she is responsible for regulatory strategies and compliance programs, enterprise and operational risk management, decommissioning, procurement and nuclear fuel management, cyber security, land and environmental stewardship, business planning, emergency preparedness, and academic partnerships. In the last six years, Zawalick was also the Vice President Generation Business & Technical Services, Senior Director of Regulatory, Risk Management and Decommissioning, Director of Nuclear Risk and Compliance and served as the Chief of Staff for the Senior Vice President, Generation, and Chief Nuclear Officer where she was involved with the overall strategic direction, planning, and oversight of PG&E's utility owned generation. An energy portfolio that is over 7,600 megawatts of safe, reliable, affordable clean energy.


Zawalick has over 32 years' experience in the utility and nuclear energy industry. She joined PG&E in 1997 and has held various positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of Integrated Planning and Business Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Regulatory, Cyber Security, Performance Improvement and Emergency Preparedness. Prior to PG&E, Zawalick spent 8 years at Westinghouse Electric involved in major projects and initiatives including decommissioning, steam generator replacements, regulatory and legislation, and Department of Energy and utility reactor start-ups.


Zawalick has a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. She is the chair of the Nuclear Energy Institute's (NEI) Decommissioning Working Group and member of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Dean of Engineering Corporate Advisory Board and California Polytechnic State University President's Council of Advisors. Zawalick is also a member of the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel, NEI's Risk-Informed Steering Committee, Regulatory Information Working Group, Women in Nuclear (WIN), and American Nuclear Society (ANS).


Zawalick and her family live in San Luis Obispo, California.
