| The 2008 annual meetings of PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company will be held on Wednesday, May 14.
Shareholders owning stock on the record date for an annual meeting
are entitled to attend and vote at the meeting.
Shareholders
must present a ticket to be admitted. Registered shareholders
receive admission tickets with their proxy cards and are requested
to bring their admission tickets to the meetings. Shareholders
are asked to present valid photo identification, such as a driver's
license or passport, before admittance to the meeting.
If your shares are
registered in the name of a brokerage firm, bank, or trustee
(i.e., held in street name), you are a beneficial shareholder
and you must obtain evidence of your stock ownership, as of the
record date, from the firm that handles your account. Please
bring this “proof
of ownership” with you if you plan to attend the joint annual
meeting.
For those shareholders
who are unable to attend the joint annual meeting, it is important
to vote on the matters described in the proxy statement. All record
date shareholders will receive a proxy statement, proxy card,
and annual report prior to the annual meetings. The proxy
statement describes the items on which we would like you, as a
shareholder, to vote. The proxy card allows shareholders to vote
without attending the annual meetings in person. Shareholders may
submit their proxies by mail, by telephone, or over the Internet,
as described in the proxy statement.
