Mark T. Caron is Vice President of Tax for PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Caron oversees all tax reporting and planning for the company.
Caron began his career at Arthur Andersen in Houston in 1981 followed by seven years with Tenneco, Inc. in both tax legal and tax leadership roles. He began his career at PG&E in 1992 and served for several years as the director of Research, Planning and Audits. Caron left the company to work as the Midwest energy tax director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers for four years and returned to PG&E in 2002 as the director of tax at the National Energy Group, a subsidiary of the company. In 2007, he was promoted to senior director and took over as head of the Tax Department. He was promoted to his current role in October 2011.
Caron holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley College and a law degree from the University of Maine. He is certified as a public accountant in the state of Texas. Caron serves as a member of the board and vice president of Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center, an organization that provides horseback riding therapy for children with special needs.
