Executive Vice President and General Counsel | Pacific Gas and Electric Company
John R. Simon serves as Executive Vice President & General Counsel for San-Francisco-based PG&E Corporation. In his role, he oversees Law; Regulatory Affairs; Communications and Marketing; Land and Environmental Management; and Enterprise Records Management. He has held his current role since March 1, 2017.
John joined PG&E in 2007 and has held several senior roles within the company including Executive Vice President, Corporate Services and Human Resources and Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
Before joining PG&E, John worked for TeleTech Holdings, Inc., a global provider of customer care technology and services, where he held leadership roles in legal and human resources including Executive Vice President, Global Human Capital.
John holds a bachelor's degree from Colorado College and a law degree from Georgetown University. Following law school and a judicial clerkship with United States District Judge William Skretny, he spent 15 years litigating commercial cases in state and federal courts, first with Proskauer Rose in Washington, D.C., and later with Hallenbeck Lascell, in Rochester, New York.
John is a member of the Bars of New York, Illinois and Washington, D.C and registered as in house counsel in California. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito and the California Minority Counsel Program in San Francisco.
