Vice President, Electric Distribution Operations
Ken Wells is Vice President, Electric Distribution Operations for PG&E. In his role, Ken oversees operations for PG&E’s 106,681 circuit miles of electric distribution lines, which includes more than 4,500 employees throughout PG&E’s service territory.
Ken joined PG&E in 1987 as a Power Systems Engineer and has held a variety of leadership roles in Distribution, Substations, Transmission, Transportation Services and Utility Operations supporting PG&E’s electric and gas systems. Prior to leading Distribution Operations, Ken oversaw the Wildfire Safety Inspection Program (WSIP) for both Transmission and Substation. In his WSIP role, he led a team that successfully completed inspections on more than 50,000 transmission structures and 250 substations in areas at higher risk of wildfires.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University. He is also a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer with the State of California.
