Vice President, Power Generation | Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Jon Franke is Vice President of Power Generation for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). In this capacity, Franke is responsible for leading functions in PG&E's Generation line of business related to technical, strategic and project support. He joined the company in 2017.
Franke is a 30-year veteran of the nuclear industry, obtaining his experience while working in increasing levels of responsibility in the U.S. Navy, Carolina Power and Light, Progress Energy, Duke Energy and Talen Energy.
As an officer in the U.S. Navy, Franke served in several nuclear power and fleet assignments, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Franke later served in several leadership positions at Brunswick Nuclear Plant before becoming the plant general manager, and later vice president, at Crystal River Nuclear Plant. He most recently served as Vice President of Susquehanna Nuclear Plant where he was responsible for all aspects of safe, reliable and efficient nuclear plant operation, design and maintenance.
Franke is a 1985 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He additionally held a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Senior Reactor Operator license.
